Welcome to Promise Baptist Church— a family of believers in Ruffin, NC, where the unchanging truth of God’s Word meets genuine love for people.

We are a Bible-believing, Christ-centered Baptist congregation that exists to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ, loving our neighbors, and serving our community. Whether you’ve grown up in church or this is your first time exploring faith, you’re welcome here just as you are.

What We Believe

As Baptists, we hold firmly to the timeless teachings of Scripture. Our beliefs include these foundational truths:

• The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God — our final guide for faith and practice.

• There is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man; He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitute for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and is coming again.

• Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — a free gift received by personal repentance and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

• Every believer has direct access to God (the priesthood of all believers) and is called to live a life of obedience and holiness.

• Baptism is by immersion for believers as a public profession of faith, and the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice.

• The church is an autonomous body of baptized believers, united in covenant to carry out the Great Commission.

We practice believer’s baptism by immersion and observe the two ordinances given by Christ: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
